Below is the press release. Good luck Elvis

HEROES LEGEND : THE FIRST STEP IN OLORON SAINTE MARIE (FRANCE)
After a trip in France without incident yesterday, the 165 competitors of the third Heroes Legend enjoyed their first stage in the forests around Oloron Sainte Marie in the French Pyrenees.
Greeted in the early evening by singing in Basque at their arrival, the participants particularly appreciated the festive atmosphere, which was offered to them by the community of Oloron.
After a dinner of local specialties during which they were able to get to know better each other, they went to their hotels to enjoy a good sleep in comfort before the first stage today.
At the foot of the Pyrenees, the surroundings of Oloron offered a very nice special 19 km. Although not taken into account for classification, it was worth it. It was the last opportunity for teams to test their race vehicles, cars and bikes, and to make the last adjustments.
Competitors then had to drive in the direction of Spain. After 474 kilometers, they reached Aras the Los Olmos, a great place in the middle of the mountains, which hosts Heroes Legend for the third time in a row.
On the program tomorrow is a stage of 25 kilometers, followed by a liaison of 544 kilometers to Almeria. Here the rally will take the boat to Nador in Morocco, which will be reached the next morning after a night crossing.

				<title>Hero&apos;s Legend</title>
				<link>http://www.dougcain.net/morocco/index.cfm/2007/12/11/Heros-Legend</link>
				<description>

The main idea of Heroes Legend, is first of all, a different spirit. A spirit made of welfare,
friend ship, pleasure to ride like you want, pleasure to discover some new landscapes and
pleasure to share an adventure with friends.
The &quot;Classic&quot; Heroes Legend is made for those who are looking for adventure, those who want
to defy the desert and live this adventure riding a motorcycle or driving a car.
This raid is a response to most &quot;professional&quot; races organised today, which have become
financially unaffordable and physically insurmountable for an amateur pilot. A response to all
those have told themselves one day: &quot;Some day, I will go to Dakar!&quot;
Heroes Legend 2008, it is also many innovations who will open more categories to enter this
adventure, and make the dream come true: reach Dakar on your bike or in your 4X4 along a
&quot;legendary route&quot; that made more than one dreaming for years.
Heroes Legend 2008, is still a team, one team, a name of a team.
Pro driver or beginner, enthusiast or amateur, Heroes Legend is done for you, by you!
The different spirit of &quot;Heroes legend&quot;, is your team. Your goal is to get your team live. Your
team exists, make it successful.
It&apos;s you, who is behind the name of your team. Your team is your strength.
Your team has a goal, reach Dakar. Your team has an other goal, the classification. You can
decide which one is the most important for you. The overall classification?, The classification
by type of bike, or car? by sex?
They are all important for you, but you will choose the one you want!
The classification is done by your good navigation, the road book that you try to follow, but it
is done also by the average speed that you try to match. The difference is that you choose
your average speed! The average speed, not the speed!!!
The average speed that let you ride like you want, or drive like your car can go, giving you
time to share the good moments with your friends, your team, your family.
The route is done to let you discover the &quot;African tracks&quot;, smooth in the beginning so you can
take your time to learn, with several sections per day to let you change with your team
mates. The route is fast (sometimes), technical (it has to be!), crossing sand dunes (once
upon a time...), crossing oasis, but always beautiful landscapes, 360 &#xb0; of pure pleasure
everyday!
