Back in spain

Unfortunatly some of the trucks didnt quite fit onto the return ferry which meant the stage in spain was canceled. All that was left was a short special, some german burnouts and some drinking the result was quite funny

Sat Day 7

Missor to the port at Nador.

It was a long ride back to Nador that was broken up by some good fun offroad riding. Myself and Marcus rode in the middle of the field and apart from a short stop to pick up an Itailian guy who had a tumble the day was easy and fun. On arrival at the port most of the rally was in a local pizzeria which had never been so busy. Thankfully like the hero he is Phil had already preordered so we ate our Pizza whilst loading all the bikes into the van (and unloading any moroccans that had got in on the way home).

Sat Day 7

The last day in morroco started with a deeper than normal water crossing

Friday Day 6

Friday was a sad day as the rally left its camp in Merzouga and started to head north back to Missor. For me it was an uneventful day which I spent mainly on the road. The only Highlight was a long slide down the hot tarmac after a Diesel spill on a tight corner. I did however manage to stop and take some video for simon of the place where he crashed last year.

The rest of the team were all doing fine and even Jeff was back o his bike collar bone and all.

Thursday Day 5

Thursday (Dune Race)

3 laps and up. That was the format 3 laps of the large house dune (about 60kms) and then a hill climb to the top of the big dune. Jeff was on the side lines with his shoulder so he took some cracking photo's (look out doug). Everyone completed all the laps. Fruit the Brit in the Landrover learnt an important lesson (switch it off when its upside down). The dune climb presented a problem for my 250 and I could only get about 6 meteres from the top.

Riders at the top included

Liz Tamsin Nick Matt Chris Mick

The rest afternoon was a chance for Nobsey and me to take a ride out.

Wed Day 4

Wed (Merzouga – Merzouga Kingstage)

Today was the big day on the rally 4 laps in the dunes with a decreasing time limit only the best riders would be able to finish. My job was to help with the restart and then wait until there was any trouble. After about 1.5 hours the first riders started to appear. The first British rider was Andy Neary he however took a detour to aa deep open shit hole that had been dug in the desert and was lucky not to drink from it!!

Tamsin missed the start/finish check on the first lap Gordon did the same but released and returned. Jeff had dropped his bike and wrenched his shoulder picking it back up so he took an early bath. Chris and Mick were both going well. Chris got in about 3 mins late on the 3rd lap so had to drop out then. Mick carried on and along with Andy was among the only Brits to complete 4 laps. Nick and Matt were unlucky and missed a check on the first lap but none noticed till the last lap so they rode all day for no reason. Paul Green had a fun day on the quad he had no GPS or road book but he did have a big smile on his face by the end of the day. The young UK Mxer (forgotten his name) was flying until he dislocated his finger.

Gordon called it a day after 1.5 laps and liz managed 2 laps.
