Well a few of us from Oxford went to Monmouth on sunday to compete in the much publised GBXC. It had rained on and off all week before the event and the going in the carpark at least was pretty tough.

The event was very well run, but I just dont enjoy the Hare and hounds format as much as a proper time card enduro, and the number of riders leads to loads of people pushing in long queues and lots of hold ups. Me Geoff and phil virtually gave up as we sat in a queue for about 15 mins on our last lap until finally we had to make a new track to get out of a stream. Some of the other competitors took a different approach and went for a swim in the stream (Dave Salkeld).

That said it was a good event and I really enjoyed catching up with friends and watching the really quick riders on the track.
