Bit more right on stuff

Right On No Comments »
For some reason at the moment I am feeling green urges more than usual. I love all the alternative approaches to normal every day problems we have. Transport, fuel, heating etc. today I found a link for tankless water heating. Now I know you can get combi boilers which do something similar but this seems like such a simple idea, just put a small electric heater right by the place you need hot water. No waiting for the water to run to heat up, as much as you want and fairly efficient.

I also came across the Oxford Green Pages which I will be grabbing when I get a chance.

At some stage I will get around to a bunch of this stuff, until then i'll be sorting my garage out.

Smoke signals

I didn't hear the explosion but over 24 hours later this is the view of the huge oil fire in Hemel Hemstead from where i'm working. Hemel Hempstead I have discovered that it's 24 miles as the crow flies, so not that far. A nasty business all round, the quicker we all start using vegie oil / wind / solar to zoom around the better.

Smells like teen chips

Ant has been applying the finishing touches to his Veg oil conversion recently and on thursday we went on the maiden voyage to Geoofs place smelling faintly of chips all the way.

At Geoffs the smell seemed to intensify and we all put it down to the new more eco ride sitting outside. Later on it turned out to be Geoffs frying pan left on the heat for 3 hours.

Fun winding Ant up about the new chip van though :) Might be doing the same thing soon 40p / ltr for veg oil or 94p / ltr for diesel... Frying tonight?

The good life

Well I haven't quite got around to growing all my fruit and veg in the style of Tom Good but I have managed at last to try out a delivered organic box of goodies.

Thanks to Abel & Cole I now have a nice box of fresh veg delivered to my door (Small organic delux incase your wondering) very groovy indeed.

I also managed to order some Ecover cleaning stuff which was handy. Anyway if I remember I will let you know what I do with the broad beans....
