Happy Birthday To Me

It was my birthday the other day and had a mystery trip to London to see the Lion King. All arranged by the lovely Sally :o) Very groovy show well worth a visit to the theatre. On the way I decided to get a new lens for my camera, so I am now the proud owner of a 70-300 USM IS zoom lens. So thanks to everyone who helped out towards this one. My first effort with it was to take some pictures of a local enduro event in Beckley last Sunday. Very pleased with the lens, just got to learn how to take good pictures now. So heres Geoff not going round a corner in the most efficient way, but hey it looks good.

Longdogs ahoy

Went out with the Hersfolk last night for a paddle on the Thames, it was the maiden voyage of longdog number two, the Costco Canadian canoe that Jon and Michelle got the other day. Michelle over ruled Jon on a point of DIY so the en-suite lives to be built another day. Anyway a little slideshow can be found here and hopefully a google earth track and pics here It was a nice little 4.5 mile paddle with a bit of champers mid way, just right on a summers evening after a spot of Wimbledon.

It's a rally boyo

Had a good zoom around the welsh forests this weekend, all fun except Herdsman being too enthusiastic and throwing himself roughly into a ditch closely followed by his bike. Bit too fast into a corner = broke collar bone :( I was right behind him and found him sitting on a bank with no bike in sight. A shortened rally for both of us but he does manage to get some time off work so all good in the end. Geoff turned out to be fastest this time around 22nd I think with 10 seconds between Anthony, Pete, Gordon and Swindon. Next up zooming about on our new moped, I think it nearly does 35mph.... It's not the one in the picture by the way, that's just one they were taking round the course, go the Harley Step Through.

Flat caps and hedges

Popped up to Beckley on good friday to watch Baz, Anton and Gordon putting around a field with blokes wearing flat caps holding clip boards watching them. A local trial which was a nice afternoon out for Sally and I. Bumped into Sarah Jane and Jeff wondering aboput with video cameras so i'm sure there will be some live footage at some stage. For now though here is a slideshow of Gordon winning by getting the most points.

Rob and his ridge...

Last week Geoff and I popped down to Bridport to catch up with our old riding pal Rob Ridge. The occasion was the SW guys in the form of Tim Ruck, Harvey, and a few others plus Alex were about. Robs gor a coll little skate park (the Trick Factory I think it's called) just behined the cop shop in Bridport in an old warehouse. It a cool setup which he runs himself. A few old video cameras feed whats going on upstairs to the entrance which is a nice touch. Me and Geoff didn't stay for the evening session (Rob lit up his coping with gas jets) but I heard it was fun.... Anyway there is a slideshow here of a few of the pics I took. Nice to see everyone again and thanks to Rob for a nice little place to ride....
