Out and aboot

Dusted off the KTM this bank holiday and went for a zoom. I think it's almost a year since it had it's last outing in French France.

Anyway a trundle about on the ridgeway (well the bits we still can) on a sunny day was a nice change. Seems like lots of the wheat crops are broken this year due to the weather though. Plenty of brown looking fields about which isn't so good.

Thanks to Geoff, Pete and Tone for an enjoyable ride.

Track days

Thick and fast this week, this is post number 402 apparently.

Anyway me and Simon had a pop up to Silverstone the other day to see Geoff, Nick and Pete have a zoom about on a track evening and I thought I would share a couple of pictures of the event.

Flat caps, trials and tribulations

There have been a few trials bikes kicking about for the last year or so and I have stood around in the woods a few times watching the odd trial here and there. The idea of trials has often tickled me with a solid grounding in the subject starting with Peter Pervis and kick start followed by the odd trip to old school trials with my dad. It's taken a few years but a couple of weeks ago I took the plunge and I am now the proud owner of an 02 Sherco 250. My first ride on it was straight in at the deep end with a trial at Beckley. I came a close second to last and had great fun doing so. Next up I will be looking for a flat cap and possibly a sports jacket with leather patches on the elbows.

French France 2007

Update: A slideshow of some choice pics is here. Ant sorted out a nice trip to France again this year, so after 4 days recovery after Hong Kong it was off to Carcason for some trail riding action. I managed to have to work till 2am on Friday morning, Hurdsman turned up at 3.30am in Mr Sings merc and off we went to East Midlands airport. Needless to say I was a bit fopped out so chose to snooze for the afternoon while the others ventured into Johnny Frenchy trail land. Saturday was a good zoom about proving once again how unfit I am, I had forgotten how nice this area is, the good bits out weigh the scary bits and its about the best riding I will ever do I would imagine. Met up with Fiona and her fella on Saturday evening as she wanted to take her new motor out for a spin from Andora, so all good there. Sunday was more excellent riding with a good bit of landing on my chest then being zapped repeatedly by an electric fence my tyre touched when I finaly got up off the ground. Grrr to Johnny Frenchy electric fences. A goos bit of Chasseur (hunters) annoying also happend which was a bonus and I narrowly missed being run down by one of the wild boars fleeing the dogs. In early due to injury with Gordon and a fine weekend away again. Nice one everyone and thanks for sorting it Ant. Oh google eath things here: Google Earth Files you will have to download the file and unzip it. There should be 3 google earth files there for Saturday and Sunday.

Western Super Traffic Jam

Update: A few pics of the procedings can be found here Had a little trip out on Sunday to go see the beach race down in Western Super Mare. All was good till we got off the motorway and trafficarama. All I can say go the TomTom. A bit of swift parking and a long walk later found us relieved of £20 each and on the beach. All was quiet for the mile walk down the straight to the first corner. A bit of catching up with everyone and then all hell broke lose as they started and piled into one another at the end of the straight as they do. We hung about and watched the carnage for a bit, apparently Gordon got stuck at the first corner and boiled then had trouble for the rest race. 15 westerns in a row I think hes done. Must be mad. Anyway zoomed back via Costco missing out about 5 motorway incidents (what is it with people these days) and i'm now the proud owner of a play station 3. Geektastic.
